Christine Aiken Memorial Award for Excellence in AGITG Study Coordination

The Christine Aiken Memorial Award for Excellence in AGITG Study Coordination is named in Christine’s honour to recognise her contributions to the success of AGITG trials over many years, benefiting countless patients across the globe.

This Award will be presented annually to recognise a significant and outstanding contribution by an AGITG study coordinator.

The recipient will receive up to $2,000 to cover flights, accommodation, and registration to attend the 2024 AGITG Annual Scientific Meeting.

2022 Recipient: Hui Ling Lau

The 2022 recipient of the Christine Aiken Memorial Award for Excellence in AGITG Study Coordination is Hui Ling Lau, from the Fiona Stanley Hospital. Hui Ling was recognised for her outstanding work on AGITG trials NABNEC, CONTROL NETs, DYNAMIC-III, DYNAMIC-Rectal and DYNAMIC-Pancreas.

 

2021 Recipient: Joanne Parr

The 2021 recipient of the Christine Aiken Memorial Award for Excellence in AGITG Study Coordination is Joanne Parr from Latrobe Regional Hospital. Since the Cancer services Clinical trials unit was opened in September 2019, Joanne has served as the sole research nurse/ study coordinator for the Unit. Joanne has been critical in developing the multidisciplinary approach to the FORECAST-1 trial coordination needed to open and recruit for this trial. Patients already enrolled have successfully undergone trial specific biopsies and rapid transport to Melbourne of their samples due to Joanne’s efforts.
